This walk provides an easy and enjoyable route around Uppermill village. Lots of interesting places to explore on the way round.

Dovestones Circular

This walk provides an interesting route to the well known Dovestones Reservoir, plus easy parking.

Distance 4.2 miles. Time approx 2 hours Grade: Moderate

Saddleworth has a walk type for everyone. From leisurely stroll to strenuous hilltop ridge hikes. Whichever walk you choose you can be sure that you’ll get spectacular scenery unique to Saddleworth.

Remember, if you do venture on to the hills and away from the low lying villages, the weather can change instantly with mist being the biggest danger.

Castleshaw Valley Reservoirs Walk

A short walk round the Castleshaw reservoirs that takes in a Roman Fort.

Distance 2 miles. Time approx 11/4 hrs Grade: Easy

Dobcross Circular Walk

A short walk around the lower part of Dobcross village that takes in the Delph Donkey pathway.

Distance 11/2 miles.

Time approx 1 hour      Grade: Easy

Grotton to Lydgate Circular Walk

An interesting walk that takes you from Grotton around Lydgate and back again.

Distance 4 miles.

Time approx 2 hour   Grade: Moderate  

Pots and Pans Circular Walk

An exhilarating walk that takes you up to Pots and Pans and back again.

Distance 21/2 miles.

Time approx 11/2 hours  Grade: Moderate

The Quarries Circular Walk

A super short walk that gets you close to spectacular disused quarries close to Uppermill.
