Catch you breath and take in the views behind you.

Continue on this uphill path until you reach Quickedge Road. Presumably this road gets its name from being a quick way from Lydgate to Mossley! Turn left and walk on towards Lydgate. Just before the White Hart pub take the path on the right. Along this path is some land marked public space. Take a stroll round this to catch the great views over Greenfield. The path meanders its way along crossing Beechfield twice and finally ending at Beech Lane where you turn left. Cross over Oldham Rd and continue up the intriguingly named Lovers Lane.

At the top of Lovers Lane turn right and then first left along Rifle Range. When you meet Platting Rd go straight across and walk down Wood Brook Lane. This quickly becomes a track and not passable in a vehicle. At the bottom cross the stream by the footbridge and take the path on the left immediately after the stream. The path will join Stonebreaks Rd where you turn left to walk back towards Grotton.
